It is a dream come true for us to have found Dragonfly Yoga Barn, Studio and Retreats. It is located in the beautiful mountains of North Sandwhich, NH. It is relatively close, all-inclusive, and we were able to create our own itinerary. Here it is! Our first three day retreat! It is an investment in your “self”…an opportunity to transition from the summer season, to one of the best seasons in New England…FALL.
Your weekend retreat includes four uniquely themed yoga classes. If weather permits, we may hold the classes outdoors in order to fully enjoy this beautiful location. You will participate in a powerful workshop called The Essential You. Developed by Grace, it is designed to inspire you to live to your fullest potential, outlining steps that will help you connect to your essence. Remember…you cannot fail at being you.
We’ve also planned an afternoon “mindful hike” to the summit of West Rattlesnake Mountain enjoying beauty and fresh air-the perfect outing. During your stay, you will be able to enjoy an indoor fireplace and an outdoor hot tub, for a total mind-body restoration. Only when you take care of your “self”, can you give with abundance. This may become your sacred destination.

Below is the weekend itinerary. The descriptions for the classes*, hike and workshops are below. Classes are designed for all levels. All vegetarian meals and snacks are created daily, using locally-grown, organic foods. All of the classes and workshops will be taught by Grace Junek, except for the Saturday morning class which will be taught by Dragonfly studio owner and instructor Katie O’Connell. a real treat.

Welcome + Gentle Stretch: This will be a welcome reception. We will review our itinerary for the weekend, introduce our selves and settle into our space with gentle stretching and breathing. We will also review the map of our location and any rules we need to consider during our stay at Dragonfly Studio. (45 min)
Restore Yoga: This class is a combination of gentle yoga, restorative yoga and the practice of pranayama. After a long trip, it is the perfect way to end the day and start the weekend retreat. (90 min)
Morning Yoga with Katie: This morning class will be taught by owner and instructor at DFLY, Katie O’Connell. Katie is a E-RYT 500+, Ayurveda Health Practitioner, Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, Thai Yoga bodyworker and Reiki II Practitioner. (90min)
Yin-Style Yoga: After our hike outing, we will reset with a yin-style yoga flow. Yin yoga is a quiet contemplative practice. Yin works deeply into our body with longer held poses. It targets our deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues — ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body — rather than the muscles. We will use breath work to release tension for our muscle-body, consciously allowing us to relax in the work. (90min)
Workshops & Excursions:
The Essential You: 7 Key Steps to Being True. In this workshop we will review and discuss seven essential steps to re-connecting with your true self, which is necessary for living life, from a place of authenticity. It is a journey of self-discovery, self-acceptance and self-love. Be true to yourself and you will ring true to the world. Everyone will receive a journal and a Conscious Ink temporary tattoo with a hidden message especially for you. This workshop is an interactive lecture with stretching and breathing breaks.
The Spirit of Yoga: This workshop is designed to bring more spirituality into your practice. Morning is the perfect time to connect with spirit through prayer, meditation and yoga. In this class, we will combine these elements, plus we will introduce Yoga Mudras. Mudras are symbolic gestures often practiced with the hands and fingers. They facilitate the flow of energy in the subtle body and enhance one’s journey within. We will discuss how to bring these beautiful hand gestures into our practice, to deepen our connection with self and spirit. (90min)
West Rattlesnake Mindful Hike:
Sounds deadly, but it’s not! The trail level is graded easy to moderate. The trail is a 25 minute ride from the DFLY studio. The hike is 30 minute to the summit of West Rattlesnake Mountain, and offers fantastic views of Squam Lake and its many islands at the foot of the mountain. We will review the practice of “mindfulness” and use it on our hike to the top. Weather permitting, we will pause for a 30 minute guided meditation. It’s an opportunity to take in the breathtaking views and recharge our spirits with positive energy from this inspiring location.
Registration and Payment Options:
Everything Is Included Your Payment: shared sleeping accommodations*, meals & snacks*, four uniquely themed classes, West Rattlesnake Mindful Meditation Hike and the Essential You workshop. You just need to get yourself to and from the location!
[*Alcohol Policy: we would prefer a non-alcohol weekend as part of a holistic experience, however, we are all adults, if you feel it necessary to bring, do so at your discretion. Please do not attend any of the classes, events or workshops under the influence.]
Space Is Limited To A Maximum Of Eighteen Attendees. There is a $50% non-refundable deposit to hold your spot, or you can pay in full. Balance is due by August 1st, 2019. If you have to cancel, you have until September 1st for a refund minus the 50% deposit.
